About this deal

The side material is not as grippy as I would like but still does the job very well and I would assume it is hard to make a hydrophobic coating or rubber so not much they could have been to change that so once again, score is not lowered. The mouse has a wireless adapter that comes with it and is plugged into your computer/laptop. I have not had any issues with latency with this adapter. The box comes with an extender to get the adapter closer to the mouse but for me I do not need it. One last thing: If your USB connection is too far from the mouse, or if it is located behind a lot of cover (especially behind a lot of metal, which depending on your desk/computer layout means behind your computer with no Line of Sight), the connection may be unreliable, as with any wireless system. Try different locations for your USB connection if you have reliability problems. Beyond this way of reliability issues coming up, I've never had connection issues.

In the gaming mouse arms race it’s been a while since Logitech has rolled out a new super-weapon with which to frag your competition. Barring the G9, Logitech has used the same tried and tested design for its gaming mice since 2002 when the legendary MX 500 was first released. While the G700 is a new design for Logitech, it's still recognisable as a Logitech mouse. We wanted to take this wireless gaming mouse for a spin and see if the new shape and features added up. You have an option to use wired. The battery adds a lot of weight to the mouse making it significantly heavier than most gaming mice. Doesn't really slow me down but if that is going to slow you down, you can pull out the battery and use it wired with a micro USB cable. Plug-and-forget nano receiver: Wireless connects using tiny USB receiver, which can be stored inside the battery compartment when it’s not in use. I use a G502 Hero and it seems close. It is wired but if that isn't too big a deal it is much cheaper. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. After you've set the sensitivity, you can use the button to toggle between your Master mouse and Custom mouse sensitivity. Amazing unboxing experience. Definitely different than what you would usually find but they made it work. Somehow, the first thing you see is the mouse but it is the last thing you take out works. Plus, you get to see the accessories that you will never use like the USB extension, and the manual, and the USB extension, and the USB extension and especially the USB extension. Did I mention the USB extension? Second to last post has a video that shows how to do it for the G700. I've done it twice on mine already.

My several year old Logitech MX Revolution was finally starting to feel its age, so I decided to upgrade to a proper gaming mouse this time, but also wanted to keep the wireless functionality that I enjoyed with the MX, so I set my sights on the G700s, the latest and greatest from Logitech. While I do realize there is not much change from the G700 as some have previously noted, I can only speak to what I notice now about this mouse and its relationship to my prior mouse, the MX Revolution. USB recharging cable is very heavy and stiff. What this translates to is that you lose a lot of freedom of motion when the cable is attached. Comparing how easy it is to manipulate the mouse with and without the cable attached, there's a huge difference - so much so, in fact, that I simply can't play most games with the cable attached. Especially in games where you need precise mouse control (shooters, RTS games, etc.), I find myself sorely missing the very nice braided flexible cable on my old G500.If you have more than one product displayed in the Logitech Options window, select the mouse you want to set the pointer speed for. The battery life on the mouse is relatively short. Using the battery that came with the mouse, it only takes around four hours of use in "Normal Gaming Mode" power settings at 250 updates/second to go from fully charged to a red indicator LED, which according to the manual means very low power level. Using 2000 mAh rechargeable NiMH Duracell AA batteries yields similar results. That being said, I've never had the mouse just die on me while gaming, and I've noticed that it can operate while reporting that very low power red LED for a good while (at least an hour). I'm not sure if the mouse automatically switches to a power-saving mode in that situation or if Logitech was just very conservative when defining their very low power limits. In any case I usually just recharge my mouse overnight (it doesn't need that long to fully recharge - I just find it to be a convenient time to do it) and it's good to go for at least the next day. The biggest change is that the G700 is able to work in either wired or wireless modes in a similar fashion to Razer’s Mamba. The separate wireless receiver is tiny and once fitted into any rarely used USB 2 port instantly connects the mouse. There's a power switch on the bottom of the mosue to save battery power.

If you’re after laptop buying advice, I’m your man. I’ve been reviewing PCs and technology products for more than a decade. I cut my teeth in PC Labs, spending several years with PCMag.com before writing for other outlets, among them LaptopMag.com and Tom’s Guide. While computers are my main focus, I’ve also written at length about topics ranging from fitness gear and appliances to TV and home theater equipment. If I’ve used it, I have opinions about it, whether somebody’s paying me to write them up or not.If you have more than one product displayed in the Logitech Options window, select the mouse you want to set the sensitivity for.

Intuitive shape and design: Individually sculpted buttons easily identifiable by touch; natural curves mean comfortable control. In the right pane, adjust the sensitivity by moving the slider to the left or right. You can adjust Master and Custom mouse sensitivity. There are 3 LEDs on the side of the mouse which shows several different things. Depending on what color they are shows what it is showing. Green shows battery life, orange shows profile settings, and red shows dpi settings. The front of the mouse contains a micro USB port, allowing a cable to be connected and the mouse to be charged. This is also how the G700S is used as a wired mouse. Unlike literally every other wireless mouse on the market, there is almost no latency over wireless. There is actually even less latency than most wired mice. It performs the same when used wired which I should probably mention,For the operation of a wireless GAMING mouse, the charging port is in my opinion superfluous, and may be detrimental if you attempt to use it. There is a case to using it to charge the battery overnight, but outside of that context, I would recommend NOT using it. It gets in the way when using the mouse with a charger plugged in, and if you wanted to use a wired mouse in the first place, I would've bought one from the get-go, as those are better designed with dedicated wires that are designed to not get in the way during operation. It is also possible to recharge the battery by plugging in a USB-Micro-B (May have changed to USB-C in newer models!), however I do have complaints about this in the cons section. Onboard memory profiles: Configure your mouse once, use it across multiple PCs with 3 different profiles for individual players or games.
