About this deal

The Tower of Nero is my favorite out of the Apollo books by far. I'll admit, the series was off to a rough start. But it was completely worth it with that OUTSTANDING finale. He is funny and dramatic, quite dramatic, and a bit of a fool but, oh my god, does he have bravery and kindness and a heart of gold. And I'm not saying that he is no longer a bit arrogant or vain but it is that he has learned there are other things in life that are also valuable.

THE IMPORTANT PART IS THAT NICO INTRODUCED WILL AS HIS BOYFRIEND EVEN THOUGH IN HOUSE OF HADES HE COULDN’T EVEN ADMIT THAT HE WAS GAY. Nero finally finds the correct remote and presses the button. Suddenly, Will, Rachel, and Lu show up, along with the troglodyte leader and the emperor's fasces. To Nero's disbelief, the troglodytes have also been successful in disabling the gas trap. Nero is forced to reveal the truth, that he is not that powerful, and is being used as a pawn by Python. If Nero is killed, then Python would become nearly impossible to kill, as the entire Triumvirate’s power would go to him. Nero is given a choice, to fight a hopeless battle and die, or live for some more years in a large prison. He chooses the first option, but gets into a tug of war with Apollo over the fasces, which Apollo was trying to break. Lester manages to use his godly powers to revoke Nero's divinity and immortality, and breaks the fasces, killing Nero.

Chiron & a crossover: This is perhaps the most exciting reveal in the book, but one that will require more in-depth discussion. Suffice it to say, for now, that Chiron had an emergency meeting with a severed head and a cat about a mutual problem. These two other characters are likely Mimir (from Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard) and Bast (from the Kane Chronicles). Could we be getting a huge cross-pantheon book or series? We can only hope! Rachel suddenly stops talking and Apollo is joyed thinking the Oracle was trying to speak through her and give them advice. However the smoke that came out of her mouth was yellow instead of the usual green and the voice of Python came through her. He then utters more lines from the prophecy: Once a teacher, always a teacher,” he says. “But the good news is, I still feel like I am a teacher. I just have millions of kids in the classroom now. And I don’t have to mark the papers, which is nice.”

Apollo comments on the existence of Celtic Gods in the second chapter. Luguselwa later mentions that most of the Celtic gods died a long time ago. Going into it I was... nervous and hesitant because, as much as I love Apollo, there were a few things through the books I couldn't quite like and, lest not forget, the task ahead for this closing volume was big and I couldn't quite see how everything would be accomplished satisfactorily in the limited amount of time given. I was not expecting the incredibly emotional journey that I was gonna witness. though my Top favourite of this series still remains "the Burning Maze", but this one is a close second. But while demigods always carry an overwhelming sense of despair with them — it’s part of the job description — there is a wonderful sense of hope, too. Camp Half-Blood remains a sanctuary for demigods from all over the country and beyond, and we get a wonderful sense of that in this installment.Apollo is surprised by how pleasant the ride is as he expected to be dropped to his death when he first entered. Next to him, Austin is playing with the keys of his saxophone and Apollo can tell that he's anxious. Austin tells him that just in case that don't make it out of this, he wants him to know what he's enjoyed their time together. Apollo can't put into words how much that means to him so instead he settles for smiling and squeezing his shoulder. The doors open and as they approach the end of the hallway, Austin looks ahead using a mirror telling him there's guards and guests in the party room. Apollo recognizes the voice of the dryad passing along a message to the people in the room talking about some sort of burning that will start when Nero finishes up some issues. Austin offers to distract the guards so Apollo can go search for Meg. He doesn't want him to do this but Austin insists on doing so anyway rushing into the room playing his saxophone. Apollo slips past and heads towards Meg's direction. Line 5 is about the troglodytes and how they could dig an underground passage into the Tower of Nero.
