My kids absolutely adore the Yoto Player – having already been long-time users of the Yoto Player 2nd generation and Yoto Mini. You can play in-app audio from your phone, on any Bluetooth speakers (including the car!). You can also play it from your phone directly onto your Yoto Player or link it to Make Your Own cards for the kids to use screen free. The Yoto Mini is great looking, and we loved its minimalist design as soon as we laid eyes on it. In terms of getting it set up, as long as you have a strong WiFi connection, it couldn’t be easier.
However there is content available that’s great for younger kids too. The player itself shouldn’t be handled by babies or kids under 3, however I would definitely say those kids will love the stories, such as Disney classics.Now the playlist is made go to the Yoto App. Head to the Make Your Own tab in the Library section, then find your new playlist! Now that Yoto has brought out its 3rd generation player there are a few more features that the Yoto Player has over its miniature sibling. Night light (do note that it’s not a particularly bright one but does give off a gentle glow and you can control the colour via the Yoto App)
The Yoto Player is a kids audio player. You can use it to play Yoto Cards (sold separately) featuring audio storybooks and educational content when these are slotted into the player. Having tried both, I think the screen and nightlight gives Yoto Player the edge, but your kids may disagree based on the fun Tonies figures! Pixel display – With each chapter, the Yoto displays another pixelated image, which helps to keep young minds engaged. We've designed our players to work as smoothly as possible, as we know that being a parent is tough enough without spotty technology thrown into the mix!. But, they are really smart devices. And sometimes smart things, like smart people, need some at Yoto display iconsOperating the Yoto is simple. Operating it does often require a WiFi connection but it can be used without one if you have already played a card in the Player (more on that shortly). A significant amount of the power your player uses is for the display. By reducing the amount of time the display is showing images when not needed, you can extend the battery life by several hours. The Yoto Mini is perfect if you want to be able to travel with the toy, whereas the Yoto Player is better as a permanent fixture on your kid’s nightstand that can also be carried around the house as needed. Child friendly – Children can easily understand how to insert the cards themselves. Letting them choose their own night-time story helps to get them engaged. ConsWe love Yoto Mini and after 8 months of using one so often we bought another so the kids have one each. Absolutely no regrets. We will have to wait and see but with the range of cards available and the simple aesthetics, I feel there is longevity in this product.” Our tester gave the Yoto Mini an impressive 5/5 stars. As an age-appropriate introduction to tech, it’s hard to beat. If that wasn’t enough, youngsters can tune in to free daily content, including a children’s radio and podcast, but you must be connected to the internet for this feature to work.
The new Yoto app update (which is coming soon) will enable the Yoto app to send alerts if the temperature in your child’s room becomes too hot or too cold. It’s worth noting that the temperature isn’t displayed on the player itself, but I still think this is a really helpful and useful feature for parents. If you already have some headphones – you the wireless set cos with a daisy chain cable so you can link to another wired set for siblings to share audio too. Set the volume (crucial if they’re insisting on blasting it at full volume when you’re wanting some peace!)

The type of charging adapter or wireless charger you use will determine the battery charge time, some charge faster than others.
