About this deal

It also had local dimming but due to poor 56 only dimming zone, it is not that good where rtings give bad. I'm thinking about purchasing it, but I've been seeing some mixed reviews about quality and longevity. If someone comes across a different type of panel or their 34GP83A doesn't correspond to our review, let us know and we'll update the review.

It's almost identical to the LG 34GN850-B, but its response time at max refresh rate is just a tad slower, and it doesn't get as bright in HDR. As mentioned earlier, this is a great monitor that you can use for work; but with DCI-P3 98% color gamut support, it is also a perfect option for photographers and video editors, for who accurate color reproduction is all-important. This 10-bit panel has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 400nits of brightness, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. For example, when a smaller area/APL of the display is used for showing a bright object, when a bright object is displayed for a short time, etc. The LG 34GP83A has a large, high-resolution screen that delivers an immersive gaming experience and provides tons of screen space for multitasking.Intro: The LG 34GP83A-B is a mid-tier ultrawide gaming monitor that was announced in 2020, with a pledge to deliver an immersive gaming experience. The Gigabyte has wider viewing angles, gets brighter, and offers more features, like USB-C input and a built-in KVM.

That extra breathing room lets you take advantage of the 144Hz refresh rate, and deploy demanding graphics options and settings, without sacrificing too much in way of pure image quality. In terms of VRR support, the LG is compatible with FreeSync and G-SYNC, while the Dell has native G-SYNC support and FreeSync compatibility. Port selection is excellent, even with the lacks of a USB-C port and Thunderbolt that are becoming standard in the high-end PC monitor industry. If you find dead pixels on your monitor, there is a trick you can do by lightly massaging, in a circular motion, the area of the dead pixel with the tip of your finger or thumb.

I'm mostly writing this to inform other Linux users who use Nvidia GPUs my experience with the UltraGear, and not "hey look at me I'm a Linux user". Actual features, functionality, and other product specifications may differ and are subject to change without notice. Also, using the sRGB mode locks out a few picture settings, including the Response Time, Black Stabilizer, and Color Temp, so if you want more customizable settings, you'll need to use a picture mode that's less accurate. We measured the HDR peak brightness in the 'Gamer 2' Picture Mode with HDR enabled and Brightness set to max. OLED | Apple MacBook Pro 14" 2023: M2 Pro, 16 GB RAM, NVMe 512 GB | Asus VivoBook 15 OLED: Intel® Core™ i3-1125G4, Intel UHD, 8 GB RAM, Micron NVMe 512 GB | Illegear Z5 SKYLAKE: Intel Core i7-6700HQ, Nvidia Geforce GTX 970M, 16 GB RAM, ADATA SU800 M.The VRR only works up to 144Hz, so if you want to use the overclockable 160Hz, you need to use a fixed refresh rate instead. It is a big monitor that will dominate even the largest desks, but the thin bezels ensure that you immerse yourself in the actual screen, rather than a boring build. I highly recommend getting a monitor arm for this as the included stand is very bulky and takes up a lot of desk space. Added tests for Console Compatibility and macOS compatibility and made minor changes to other tests, which you can see in our Changelog.
