The lightning shot was put back in to the 2002 Anchor Bay Book Of The Dead DVD, and has remained in all subsequent releases. One by One We Will Take You: The Untold Saga of The Evil Dead – features relatively new interviews from the cast and crew and they discuss (and praise) Raimi for his work on this film. The Evil Dead as mentioned is now 30 years old but prepare to be shocked and revolted none-the-less.

At the Drive-In (13min) – the above mentioned hand out The Evil Dead DVD in 2005 to a group of hardcore fans that are camping out in a parking lot at Chicago’s O’Hara International Airport with a big screen ready to watch the film. Later instalments were slightly less horrific and more comedic, as the franchise attempted perhaps to gain a wider audience from its cult beginnings. Join Ash and his trusty Boomstick through this definitive collection, bringing together the original Evil Dead trilogy from mastermind director Sam Raimi. Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. Contributors include horror film magazine editors Alan Jones and Allan Bryce, of Shivers and The Dark Side publications, respectively. This release builds on the 2008 Evil Dead - The Treasures Collection DVD listed above, with a range of upgraded and new material spread over two discs. The reason I suggest the this DVD over the others, is that its the only version to include an open matte version of the film, in addition to the standard 1. Most of this stuff is pretty dry, and it doesn't help that it's mostly shot in low video quality; although some of these guys come off better than others.

The Trilogy also has some exclusive extras, some of which are pretty dodgy, but still worth noting at least. The PC viewable DVD-ROM folder is packed with over a gigabyte of rare Evil Dead trilogy material painstakingly collected over many years, with major contributions by a number of die hard Evil Dead fans.At 35m 55s there is a shot where Cheryl is first possessed and turns round to the group watching with a loud scare chord. The 'skin' of the book is made of latex and will smell quite badly for a few weeks, but this will wear off.

In other words, adding black bars on the bottom and top of the image created the widescreen presentation of the film on disc one. Unconventional (20min) - the three ladies, Campbell, Richard DeManincor, Tom Sullivan, and Ted Raimi discuss horror conventions and the fanbase. Update 12/29/18: And right on the heels of Evil Dead's 4K release, Lions Gate has put out an Evil Dead 2 UHD. In an effort to straighten out their drug-ravaged friend Mia (Jane Levy), a group of five 20-somethings decide to decamp to an isolated backwoods cabin in the mountains of Tennessee. When Cheryl first becomes posessed (at the window) there is no quick zoom to her face, a la the Elite version.
